FORM: Broad vase-shaped with strong horizontal branching. Also available as a standard. 

GROWTH RATE: Moderate

FOLIAGE: Large green leaves with finely serrate margins. Turning yellow to bronzy-red and orange in Autumn. New growth is pale green.

FLOWERS: Slightly pink buds opening to whire flowers hanging below the branched in pendant clusters in mid-spring. Mildly fragrant.

BARK: Grey and rough.

LANDSCAPE USES: Excellent flowering tree suitable for gardens where lateral space is adequate

TOLERANCES: Adaptable to a variety of site conditions, but prefers moist, well drained, fertile soils and a position receiving full sun to part-shade.

TREE CARE: Plant in full sun in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
