FOLIAGE: Bright golden yellow, heart-shaped leaves that emerge vivid yellow in spring, softening to lime green through summer.

DESCRIPTION: An eye-catching small to medium sized deciduous tree with a rounded habit. Masses of small rose-pink, pea-like flowers appear in clusters along the bare branches in early spring. These are followed by striking golden, heart-shaped foliage that provides outstanding colour contrast in the garden, along with ornamental seed pods later in the season.
LANDSCAPE USES: Cercis ‘Aurelian’ makes a spectacular feature tree, prized for its luminous foliage and spring floral display. Ideal for both small and large gardens, it works beautifully as a standalone specimen or as a contrast planting among darker foliage trees.
TOLERANCES: Plant in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. Frost tolerant once established. Best grown in a sheltered position, as it is not tolerant of strong winds.
TREE CARE: Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
