Nyssa sylvatica – Black Tupelo
DESCRIPTION: As a moderately sized tree with lovely autumn colour, Tupelo would make an excellent specimen planting in a larger garden or reserve.

FOLIAGE: Mid green foliage becomes orange and scarlet in autumn
FLOWERS and FRUIT: Produces clusters of small blue egg shaped berries
GROWTH RATE: Slow
TOLERANCES: Prefers most, moderately well drained and fertile soil in a full sun position. Tolerates wet sites, drought and frost as well as hot climates.
TREE CARE: Pruning is generally not required. Relatively pest free
