FOLIAGE: Purple leaves mature to a coppery colour throughout spring and summer becoming a deep reddish purple in autumn.
FLOWERS and FRUIT: Drooping yellow flowers in spring.
BARK: Smooth and grey becoming textured with age.
GROWTH RATE: Slow
LANDSCAPE USES: Feature, hedge or screen, shade.
TOLERANCES: Dislike hot climates. Tolerates drought once established as well as frost and wind. Best colour is achieved in full sun.
TREE CARE: Requires regular watering to maintain it’s deep root system. Can be attacked by aphids and powdery mildew.
